Home Buyers Club

The Liberty Hill Home Buyers Club is a unique opportunity for Wayne County residents to learn about what it takes to buy a home. This program allow you to participate in counseling classes, speak with mortgage lenders, real estate agents and maintenance/repair experts to prepare you for the actual purchase of a home. LCCH will help you learn how to establish or repair credit and create savings toward a new home. Call our office at 734-722-4980 to register for a free session.

How the Home Buyers Club Got Its Start

In 2001, LHHC embarked on a path to create new opportunities by establishing its Homeownership Program. In 2002, LHHC qualified as a MSHDA certified counseling agency for low-income families. It also won approval as a broker agency from the Department of Community Health to provide counseling services. As a result, Homebuyers Club was established and monthly meetings take place where people receive counseling and learn about financial management, budgeting, and repairing or establishing credit.

Down Payment Assistance

In 2002, LHHC was also awarded a grant from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis to provide a $10,000 forgivable loan to 12 people with disabilities as down payment assistance. While the grant has been exhausted, Liberty Hill continues to seek as many resources as possible to assist first time homebuyers in making their homeownership dream a reality.
