for Spring Fling '10!

Would you like to give back to your community and help spruce up homes in your area? In an effort to show your community spirit and to help some homeowners come home to a newly renovated abode, Liberty Hill Housing Corporation is holding its third annual Spring Fling '10 during the week of May 10-14.

"This is a great partnership between Liberty Hill and several volunteer groups and sponsors to help people see what it's like first hand to have their 'house' turned into a 'home,'" said Executive Director Peggy Frankie. "Last year we had a great turnout from volunteers and sponsors and that's what we're hoping for again this year."

This year, hundreds of volunteers will be working on two single-family homes located in Wayne and Westland. Supplies are needed for the renovations, both indoor and out, including building supplies, paint, paintbrushes and many other items. "Our goal this year is to get $75,000 in donated materials and labor," said Frankie.

Liberty Hill Celebrates its 18th Anniversary Celebration and Partnership Recognition!

Liberty Hill along with many of its partners celebrated its 18th anniversary March 2009. Almost 100 people were in attendance to celebrate the company's achievements.

Partners recognized for their outstanding contribution to helping Liberty Hill provide affordable and accessible housing included:

Michigan State Housing Development Authority, Wayne County, City
of Westland, CEDAM-Legislative Innovators, Michigan Interfaith Trust Fund, United Way of SE Michigan, Community Living Services, Ford Motor Company, and National City Bank.
