for Spring Fling '09!

Would you like to give back to your community and help spruce up homes in your area? In an effort to show your community spirit and to help some homeowners come home to a newly renovated abode, Liberty Hill Housing Corporation is holding its second annual Spring Fling '09 during the week of May 11-15.

"This is our second annual Spring Fling fundraiser and we are pleased that we had such a positive response last year," said Liberty Hill Executive Director Peggy Frankie. "We had at least one hundred volunteers last year that showed up to paint, plaster and pull weeds!"

This year, volunteer crews will be working on four single-family homes located in Redford, Romulus and Detroit. Supplies are needed for the renovations, both indoor and out, including building supplies, paint, paintbrushes and many other items. "Our goal this year is to get $50,000 in donated materials and labor," said Frankie.

Liberty Hill Celebrates its 18th Anniversary Celebration and Partnership Recognition!

Liberty Hill along with many of its partners celebrated its 18th anniversary this past March. Almost 100 people were in attendance to celebrate the company's achievements.

Partners recognized for their outstanding contribution to helping Liberty Hill provide affordable and accessible housing included:

Michigan State Housing Development Authority, Wayne County, City
of Westland, CEDAM-Legislative Innovators, Michigan Interfaith Trust Fund, United Way of SE Michigan, Community Living Services, Ford Motor Company, and National City Bank.
